I’ve come up with quite a challenge to keep me going over a full year! I’m cycling the Lands End to John O’Groats distance, climbing the 3 Peaks, rowing the length of the Thames, and swimming the Channel.
The twist is that I’m doing it all without leaving Chester
I’ll be accumulating miles towards my target with each visit to my local gym! I’ve already completed 4 months on this challenge and am well on course. I've completed the 3 Peaks climb, and in December, finished my Channel swim too - but obviously I’m keen to maximise my fund-raising, and any publicity is more than welcome.Originally, I set myself a goal of raising £3650 for Cancer Research UK, and to help me with this I created the 1%ers Club, where sponsors can qualify by sponsoring me a minimum of £36.50 (or 10 pence a day for the 365 days of my challenge). Anyone who joins the 1%ers Club gets a name check on my website,1%ers also get regular update emails on how my challenge is progressing. So far, I have 96 members of the 1%ers club, and my sponsorship pot is sitting at around £6041 – smashing my target with only 4 months gone in my 365challenge year – so there is scope for an even greater amount to be raised!
